two pack paint?
First, warm the engine to operating temperatures....For hydraulic lifters just tighten the rocker arms while the motor is running until they get quiet. Then back them off until they get noisy( tick-tick-tick), then tighten them until they go quite again. You'll have to do this sixteen times, once for each lifter.....For solid lifters, after warming engine, put the cylinder you want to adjust at Bottom Dead Center (BDC) so the lifters are on the bottom of the cam lobe. Then use a feeler gage to adjust the valve lash to the cam manufacturer's specification by tightening or loosening the rocker arm. You can also adjust a lifter when it's mate is on the rise. That way you can be sure that the one you are adjusting is closed. If you are unsure of the valve lash, set at around 0.020 inches and see how it works. Remember, too loose will hammer the heck out of your lifters, push rods and rocker arms. Too tight will wear the cam lobes.
How much should a power steering pump cost to replace incl. labour (UK)?
Yes if they are Hydralic, soak them in some new oil first, making sure they are completely full, then when motor is finished, don`t do the full throttle thing, take it easy. If you take it on the highway(substain RPM`s), every so often let off the gas and then back on. This should help break it in.
car spares?
If it's a Chevy small block they are hydraulic and should be adjusted with the engine running. (Messy... they make oil deflectors that help keep the oil from spraying all over but you'll probably never use them again so deal with the mess.) OK, now... how it's done. One at a time loosen the rocker stud nut until the rocker starts "ticking". Now begin tightening slowly until the ticking stops. THEN continue tightening slowly 1/2 to 3/4 turn. The engine will stumble if you tighten too fast because the lifter needs awhile to bleed-down. Continue on to the next valve until all are done.
