need help with my civic !?

I do belive you have a throw-out bearing going out. It's probably about 100 bucks. You might as well get a new clutch and pressure plate while it's apart. All together about 250 to 300.

Where's the best place to get my brakes checked?

probably lack of lube in the gear train. it could be allota things, but lack of lube in the tranny.
