I have a Plymouth Caravelle that is leaking antifreeze from a small line(almost looks like a vacuum line) that goes into the firewall on the drivers side. The other end runs to something under the air cleaner cover. Any ideas?

If your smelling it inside its your heater core it can't be anything else. Its not something that is hard to fix just takes some time and isn't something that you necessarily need to pay someone to fix.YOu could take it out and if you find the hole solder it up after first draining the antifreeze

it's the line to your heater core. either the clamp is loose or the nipple coming out of the fire wall is out of round. Mine was leaking just a few months ago on my 98 dakota. Mine was the nipple was out of round due to the clamp being overtightened. It took a lot of time to get it back to being relatively round by putting a drill bit in the nipple and hitting it to get out the low spots. good luck but should be a pretty easy fix. Oh and before you take that hose off make sure you drain the system down a little or you will make a huge mess. The hose will still leak a little even after you drain it down a little.Hey guys..please suggest some catchy names for a mechanical performance workshop?

I would guess that it is either a vacuum line to the heater control valve (if it's a vacuum operated one) or the vacuum source for the heater and A/C control head.

Niether one should have antifreeze flowing thorugh the line if it is less than about a 1/2 inch diameter hose.

Also there should be no coolant flowing into your throttle body or air cleaner!
