Question:
I have had my car since 2001. I haven't really had to do any major work on it. But lately its kind of going down hill. My brakes squeak, something else squeaks when I push the gas pedal, my trunk leaks water when it rains, and I have a slight oil leak and transmission fluid leak. Would it be less expensive to fix those things, or get a new car all together.....? The car I have now is paid off. What do you think?

If you figure that over a year you aren't spending more than 50% on repairs as you would a new car, keep getting it fixed. (Unless those repairs are too often accompanied by towing!)What kind of car is it?

You can have everything you described for about what three car payments would cost you. Or maybe even less than that.Since it is paid off I'd say trade it in, sounds like a lemon. Suggestion: get a qualified, third pary mechanic to check over anything you think you might trade it for. It will cost you a little bit ( but not a lot) and save you a lot of headaches.
