1997 ford escort hole in tranny...is there anyway to rebuild it myself??
Carefully check wires from the distributor pickup. There is a ground wire that likes to break off that goes to the shaft of the distributor. (under the counter weights). I didn't have any luck repairing it. Much easier to replace the entire distributor from the junk yard.I had a number of mid eighties GM products I had this problem with. I am thinking that the wire is just touching causing the intermittent spark you describe. ( They break off real easy careful inspecting)
'93 nissan sunny 1.5L - suspect timing chain may have skipped a tooth. How can I confirm this?
Could be bad Plug wires, try switching a couple.
possible bad rotor cap, or it needs cleaned
whats the definition of emergency maintenance?
It sounds like the plug wires have accidently been placed in the wrong firing order. Please re-check.Check distrbutor shaft for excessive side play.Bad cap, bad wires or bad plugs. Timing has nothing to do with getting spark to the plugs.
