Question:
I replaced the ingnition coil, ingnition module, distributor, cap, rotor button, wires, and plugs. I've been looking through my Chilton's Manual and the only thing that i think it could be is maybe my knock sensor. If you have any other ideas I would appreciate it. Don't know of any other things that would make cylinders 3 4 and 5 spark but not 1 2 and 6. I put my new heads, intake, carb, e.g.r valve, etc. pretty much my whole top end is new except that I put it on a used block because my crank was shot in my other block. Do you think it could be the knock sensor ?

My transmission makes a big clunk noise when I change from P to D and from D to R?
I doubt that car even had a knock sensor. Knock sensors only tell the PCM to back off the timing slightly. Does your P/U even have fuel injection? Try looking for hair line cracks in the cap or rotor. Are the spark plugs gaped (or clean, unbroken, etc). Since the the missing cylinders are all over the engine(as apposed to been all one one side) start the engine as best you can in pitch dark and see if you have a lighting storm anywhere near the secondary ignition system (cap, wires)Sounds like maybe you put something back in wrong. Distributor? Wires in wrong order? Dis you get it Top Dead Center?
1-2-6 are all in a row in the firing order. It seems that you do not have a mechanical problem in the engine. but may have a mechanical problem with the distributor or and electrical problem with the cap or wires. make sure the rotor is turning when the engine is cranked. youve got me stumped. Check the cap to see if its sitting flat. look inside it real good for marks from the rotor hitting it and look for cracks
need a new car but a little low on cash?
That's really strange... If you have one of the old wires, try replacing one of the ones that aren't sparking and see if you get juice. I've had new sets that were faulty and it will drive you crazy. How much should it cost to have a tire patched on a 2005 Toyota Rav 4?
I'm assuming you made sure the gap in the plugs was correct...
You can use your timing light to see if the cylinders are firing by hooking up to each wire one at a time - if the light blinks, you have juice flowing. If not, either the wire or the plug is bad.
