1988 Jaguar Vanden Plas w/car phone won't Start?

Question:
Left the lights on and the battery died. Had a friend jump it for me with no luck. There was a warning over the battery warning that if the car was jumped or the battery replaced without taking out the fuse for the car phone it would cause serious damage. After jumping it i went and bought a new battery and installed it. It started up and ran fine I drove it around for about an hour or so and it worked perfect all day yesterday. Then this morning it wouldn't crank. Lights came on , radio, etc but it didn't start. Does anyone know what could have happened because of the phone?? Thanks
