Need to know if throttle is sticking or trans needs work. HELP?

Question:
I have a 97 Ford Explorer that seems not to downshift. It accelerates fine but when you let off the gas it is still reved up hi. I don't think it is the throttle sticking. The RPM'S go down. But if I punch the gas a time or two it seems to rev down. Any suggestions would be GREAT!!

Answers:

Car wont crank ?

Sounds like a sticking IAC Valve. The next time it sticks, open the hood and tap on the valve, if it idles down you will need to replace it.

how can i jack up my rav4's engine to run faster?

It sounds like your throttle is sticking to me.
