I have two ideas for you, both are messy. . . Grease your steering components. Take it to a shop if you please and just ask them to grease it up. Oh, the other idea is no good because it is not feasible to fix until you are close to having a failure, but I'll tell ya anyway. It is unlikely to be the case anyway. . . That has rack and pinion steering, if you start getting a POPping noise, it is because the stops inside the rack have deteriorated (they are like plastic washers). If it is just a creak, probably just a matter of grease on your zirks. (Tie rod ends) Here is the unfortunate thing, many newer vehicles don't have serviceable Tie rods, meaning they have sealed joints with no grease fitting. If this is the case, you may have to live with that noise until you replace the tie rod ends. sorry for the jargon. . . the tie rods connect your steering box (rack and pinion in this case) to the spindle, which holds your wheels.

I would guess the rack attached to the firewall. Open the Hood and observe while someone turns the wheel to make it creak.
