Not unless your car is overheating or it's hot outside. It is essentially a broken heater.

the heater works with hot water from the motor, no heads most times is the heater valve or a plugged core

I own a 92 nissan maxima, that refuses to run. does anyone know what color it is?

it'll more than likely pull in the air from the engine compartment. With the weather the US has had lately, did you leave the hot/cold selector on hot and if it was a warm day, did it get warm in the car? if so, just apply the same principle. I'm no ASE certified mechanic, but it's my best guess

Is this a good DEAL or what?

If the heater coil is gone out, just wait til it comes back in LOL.
OK seriously, the heater coil is filled with hot water from the radiator, when the fan blows air across this coil you receive hot air.If this coil is broken or no hot water flows thru it,NO you will not get any hot air, just air the same temperature as outside your car

What was your first car restoration project?

2004 Chevy Trailblazer water pump?

There are only 2 things that can go wrong with heater core. They either get stopped up or they leak. If it gets stopped up there will be no heat. If it is leaking you will still have heat until it gets very low in coolant. For a leak you might try stop leak. If it is stopped up you might try flushing it out with garden hose.

I purchased a 99 expedition 2 days ago, and it wont start, can i take it back??

I wish you had described what "gone out" means. I know a few tricks to repair leaking heater cores.
