Where to find a wiring harness for Idle air temp. sensor, mine broke??
Unlike you, I'd run it correctlySince this has nothing to do with cars and transportation, maybe you should redirect your question to household wiring.
Electrical wiring is very hazardous, u can be electrocuted or set your home on fire. and u should hire a professional electrician that is both licensed and bonded, But if u must here the way to go about it. I take it that the electrical switch is mounted on the wall and that a light socket exists on the ceiling. If not do not even start to attempt this job. It will be to labor intensive, require that u purchase or borrow electrical trade tools and require skill u might not poses You will need a wirestripper/cutter, screw driver, wire nuts and the appropriate wrench to assemble the fan. Turn off the power breaker to the circuit being worked on and check by using a circuit tester. You will need a fan support box that can be purchased at the depot. Do not use the existing light box, it is not secure enough to hold a fan., The best on is the one you insert though the existing hole and the turn the buckle with a wrench until it is secured into the ceiling joists. Pull the black or red wire (hot), white wire (neutral) and green wire (ground) through the new box and into the room. Secure the fan base to the box following the instruction that come with the fan. The instruction will also illustrate the proper way to connect it's wires to the house current wires.(does the fan have a light kit with a seperate switch?). Mke sure that you twist the wires together before inserting them into the wire nuts, make sure you tighten the wire nuts firmly onto the wire. If this connection is not tight and secure it will generate heat, melt the wire nut and possibly cause a short or fire. Now that the base and wiring is complete mount the fan blades onto the motor. Quality fans are prebalanced, inexpensive fans will include small self adhesive weights that need to placed onto the fan blades to minimize fan wobble. If you have any question and I'm sure u do contact me through CarQnA.com and I willdo what I can over the net to be of help to u. Good luck and congrats on trying.
An existing wall switch can be used for a fan, where a ceiling light once was.A 4-inch electrical fan box should be used.If you are creating a new cicuit ,you will have to tap into an existing hot circuit.Run wire to the switch(black wire to gold screw on switch and white wire to silver screw and ground wire to ground.Run wire in attic over to 4" ceiling box(that is secured to rafter and mount your ceiling fan.Make sure power source is turned off during all installation.Good luck
what are some inexpensive ways to save gas?
Most homes now have the ceiling boxes wired for individual switching of the ceiling fans. I am assuming that you may live in an older home where the wiring is not in place. What I usually do is to find the hot wire in the ceiling box (it should be black if done to code). Do not confuse it with the switch leg (also black) for the light. The neutral will be white. Run a length of at least 14 - 2gauge wire from the ceiling box to the switch location (this is easier said than done on an existing box). Connect the wires to the switch - the other end will have one of the wires going to the wire on the fan and one to the hot wire identified in the ceiling box. Hope this helps.
