Question:
How much does it cost to change a front seal on a transmission cost on a 94 t bird
Answers:
auto diagnostic tools functions and operation?
I own a transmission shop, and I can tell you it is a job to do a 94 thunderbird. There is no room to work, and the drive-shaft is real hard to get out. That may sound strange, but the way the car is made, makes it very difficult to get the drive-shaft out of the hole it is in.Consider this; It is an all day job to do a front seal in that car, and you are assuming that is the problem. This may not be the case, as it may also have a torque converter problem. If the hub the seal runs on is worn, then it won't seal off unless you put a new converter in it. A rebuilt converter will set you back about $120 or better, and the cost of the seal for the front pump may be a $5 item. The seal may have blown out, and be leaking between the outer edge and the pump case. You can figure 8-12 hours labor @ $60-$80 per. hour, fluid, and parts. I know that is not what you wanted to hear, but that is how it goes sometimes.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!
