My friend has a 99 Explorer an it is stuck in 4 wheel drive he said he didnt shift into the 4x4 HElp Please!?

if your friend can work on cars it would be easy.... ford motor comapany uses electric transfer switches...... pop out the fuse for the relay (under your hood) pull wires off relay, put fuse back in , turn ignition switch to on and tap the hot wire a few times and if it makes a clicking ther is no help..... but if it hums it will unlock after a few trys...... it will sound like a toy electric car for a few seconds.....it will then be unlocked....
