I have a 99 Ford taurus wagon .When i turn on the heat all i get is cold air .Coolent levels are ok.Had thermostat changed still no heat.??

It could be that there is some crap cloggin the heater. when your car has been running for a few minutes, check the water hoses going to and from your heater if one is noticably hotter than the other then this is the most likely cause. if they are the same temp, but you get no warm air at all then your heater core might have gone out and then you need to goto the parts house and replace it.Commodore VS Acclaim Surges/Almost Stalls?

heater core could be plugged uip...common on fords. Disconnect botehr heater hoses and blow through it. Probably a big junk of sludge will come out, and then you will have heat again. You might be ablke to blow it out by mouth, ot might need an air compressor. Enjoy the heat.changing spark plugs when its cold? is it a bad idea?

You need to check your heater hoses. Under the hood the hoses run from the engine to your heater. On one hose there is a valve that controls the coolant flow to the heater. Feel the hose that it is attached to and see if it is warm on the side nearest the heater.If not the valve is not operating. The vacuum line attached to it may be broken or the valve may be stuck shut.I have a 99 Ford Taurus 4 door. When I turned on the heat all I got was cold air. Changed the plugs and wires. That did not solve the problem. Tried changing the thermostat and that did not solve the problem. So I brought it to a new mechanic. He checked under the hood and felt some hoses. He told me it was the water pump. So he replaced it. I had heat and it is great. Good Luck!
