2)Try a high mileage oil for a few oil changes, see if it doesn't slow it down
3) move to a higher weight oil, but you will suffer power/fuel economy wise
If it were me I would just leave it alone, buy oil in bulk and top off whenever a quart low. My corolla burns a quart every 1000 miles, I drive 1000 miles in 2 weeks, so every 2 weeks I add a quart.

I'll be honest, I've never taken apart a "normal" engine, so I don't know how hard it is to replace the rings, but thats what you want to do. Or, burn the Honda and get an RX-7, that way its normal to burn oil and you won't feel bad about your car burning oil.
