If the furnace ignites, the fan control may be acting up. It's often a little box with two adjustments on it. To keep everyone comfortable it's first job is to prevent the fan from blowing cold air until the fire has been burning for a "minute" or so. It's other job is to scavenge more heat by keeping the fan running for a little while after the fire turns off.

If it's a newer furnace make sure the filter isn't plugged. Some times there is a reset button on the motor( usually red ), but if you reset it and it keeps shutting itself off don't mess with it. Might be cause the ignitor is not lighting the fuel and the shutting off is a safety thing. Every time you hit the reset it could be dumping fuel into the burner and if it ever does light it could cause a huge fire.
