The handle is basically a cable to the rear brakes instead of hydraulic fluid. you can help put more pressure to the rear, but they only do about 30% of the work anyway.so if you help giving it about 10% more of the 30% they stop, its going to pull about 33% of the car. not very helpful. If you can do it yourself, get the brakes, they should take even a novice about 2 hours...autozone, most brake shoes with a lifetime warranty (even for wear for the next time) anywhere from $15-$40'97 Rav4 thumping sound in back right?
