My car has been losing oil but there are no oil slicks when I park and no visible drips. I go to Jiffy Lube every few weeks to get a free top off and I'm wondering if the constant cycling of oil lengthens the time needed for an oil change.

You are adding fresh oil to it, but the filter will still need to be changed regularly. I'd still try and find out why your car is burning so much oil.The topping it off won't get the dirt out of the engine - you still need to get it changed regularly so the dirt will get drained out of the engine.
instead of just topping off the oil you should go and get a full oil change EVERY 3000 miles or 3 months your car is probably burning it up because its been such a long time since your last oil change the oil does break down after being heated up and cooling down everyday. GET IT CHANGED

Every 3 monthe or 3,000 miles. Sounds like you have an oil leak somewhere. You shouldn't have to be "topping off" your oil ever few weeks. Take it to a service center to ahve it looked at. No! just because you keep getting your oil topped off doesn't mean you don't have to change your oil. Maybe your car burns a little oil through the tail pipe while your driving sometimes can be unnoticable. Change your oil regularly.1996 Chrysler LHS with wheel wobble in rt rear.?
I had a Chrysler that was just like that. All you need to do is make sure your your using a good grade of oil such as Castrol Syntec or adding Lucas as your final quart in every oil change. A lot of times your Lube place is using a/an oil that isn't quite up for your normal driving standards. Next time, take a few more dollars and get the Synthetic blend....Make sure you are watching them put in the correct oil. Then check if after a couple of weeks....the oil should still be within a reasonable level range.Do JDM or OEM lip kits come painted or do i have have to get them painted?

If you must go to these amateurs, it is hopeless, they could be ruining your car. There are things that you can do, but first you must start from a clean, positive engine flush and oil and filter change, then you can deal with the underlying problem. The 3,000 mile oil change is total bullcrap started by the oil companies to sell more oil, most manufacturers recommend 7,500 in a properly maintained engine, synthetic recommendation is 10,000. If your engine is tight, you can switch to synthetic and stop worrying.should atheists be allowed to live in our society?

As for that cleaning out the dirt thing. Changing the oil doesnt clean you engine nor does it clean off the "dirt" it just replaces the dirty oil. And you will never have dirty oil at the rate you are putting in oil.

Let me refrase that... If you are adding a quart every 3 weeks your oil should stay good but, if it takes like 2000 miles then yea change it.

Now since your oil is already clean you could wait twice as long to change you filter because the filter wont barely have anything to filter out of new oil. There you go big daddy Do not waste money getting an oil change every 3000 if you doing this.
