Question:
I check my water and oil every day and one day while driving (Mazda MX6 turbo) and was 5 mins from work my temp gauge was nearing hot and drove the rest of the way to work but later on when i went to leave and after topping up the water she was running really rough so i turned her off and had one of the guys at work have a look and a little hose had a split in it. he fixed it up and i started it and was running fine but got a tow truck just in case coz the radiator was bubbling and think that i might have blown the head gasket or maybe even stuffed the head? Should getting it reconditioned be the best? or can i chemi-weld it?
what do u think? btw im in Australia.

how much should front brakes cost for a 2003 honda civic . I also need my rotors cut?
Well, first you have an overheating problem, if you have to add water everyday, that is a problem. Water either leaks outside the engine or indise, if your temp guage went high and your water level went low then your head gasket is bad and your engine is burning your coolant. If you auto just overhated breifly the head might be ok. Take it to a shop and have the head gasket replaced. They can check the head at that point for cracks and if it is warped.Head gasket repair complications - liability?
instead of jumping to conclusions why don't you do a little investigative diagnostics.? ok ..the car over heated.so what!? it could be the thermostat stuck closed.....it could be that little hose your friend found that caused the overheat........it could be the radiator cap being bad that caused it to overheat.....what about the water pump?! there are alot of things to check out befor you go condemming the head and throw away alot of money for nothing. have a block check done . It tests for exhaust gasses in the cooling system.that will tell you if it is a head or headgasket problem right off. do a pressure test...that tells also....More Questions & Answers ...
