Yes you can and no it is not that bad. Just go to a junk yard and find a set of pedals because you will need the whole Assembly. I have done this swap myself and yes it is time consuming but everything will bolt up.You might have to have drive shafts made though but they could be the same too. Hope I have been helpful.

just find a replacement, or fix yours. yes you can out a stick, or manual trans in it, but really, by the time you buy all the pieces you need to change it over, you could have fixed your old one. Its probably not that bad off if all the forward gears work. Anyway you would need a flywheel, pedals and linkage, pivots, diveshaft, or maybe just some work on yours, they add up fast. AND when its done, you have devalued your truck badly. Standard transmission trucks bring alot less and are harder to sell. they are a ***** in traffic, women hate them, and the shifter is always in the way. Just fix it.

Yes...but the cost would be about twice what a replacement tranny would cost. There are all kinds of modifications, including welding in a clutch pedal, and cutting the floorboards, new linkage....also changing things like the speedometer cable, speed sensor....your talking lots of hours of work and $$$$
