White smoke usually indicates coolant getting into the fire. Could be a cracked block, head, or gasket. Intake or head gasket would be a likely place to start. I actually, had the same problem- it sounds like the head gasket. Does it smell like anti-freeze? Not really an expensive problem- it's just finding someone to do it. Check the thermostat too- that usually goes 1st (also not expensive & easy to replace yourself). Good luck & God Bless.White smoke in a gas engine is water, either a intake gasket leaking or blown head gasket, or a cracked head. Fill your radiator up to the neck pinch off the over flow hose. run till hot look for bubbles, if none found head gasket probably ok. look for loose bolts on intake manifold and a bad gasket, water leaks on the intake. these are simple quick checks, if nothing found then deeper checks will be required. Breaks and Rotors question...?
white smoke = water or coolantblue smoke = burning oil
black smoke = fuel
Problem is a blown head gasket, look at the oil on the dipstick, if it is a milky color you have water getting into the oil. Or a compression check, any cylinder with low or no compression at all is the culprit.
