How do I get to the speakers behind the driver and frontseat passenger in my 96 RAV 4?

/That speaker behind the frontseat passenger makes absolutely no sound while the one on the opposite side does. I need to replace it.
Can I try a pair of bigger speakers with 'secondary' cones to get a better sound overall?
