Check engine light comes on and off, heat went out, hard starts some mornings.?

Question:
The vehicle is a 1999 dodge durango. I check engine light comes on for awhile and then goes out. Also the heat isn't working properly. It also has a hard time starting in the morning. I have given the car a tune-up. oil, sparkplugs, wires, radiator flush,transmision fluid. Oh and my thermostat reads normal.
hopefully someone has some suggestions. It also has died once while driving it and would not restart.

My heat went out, and it was due to lack of water, but that doesn't sound like a problem for you. Still surprised me when it happened, as I had the car checked out a few weeks prior.
