While I was driving on a small street, I was distracted for literally about 1 sec. THere was a lot of traffic so the light was changing and we would move up little by little. The car in front of me stopped, and I noticed it too late. I slammed on the breaks, but my car skidded into hers. It was hardly any damage, just my lisence plate imprinted on her bumper. I dont think that she contacted he insurance. Can this damage be buffed out of her bumper, or will she need a new bumper completely?
Either way, how screwed am I??

If the scratches are deep enough to catch your finger nail it needs to be painted, if the plastic bumper is twisted or broken it will need replacing, as far as buffing it out, if the clear coat is only a little smudged some very fine micro buffing compound could take it out but if its deep down passed the color coat the bumper cover should be repainted, at most no more than $3oo dollars but should be less, I've been fixing that kind of stuff more than 23 years don't worry you will come out OK.How do you disengage the caliper when changing the brakes and rotors on a 94 Ford Explorer?
You better call her and see if she did file a claim against your insurance co. If she did not and wants it fixed have her get a legit estimate and see if you can pay for it.
