Is it possible to get a city to pay for damages to your vehicle?

If the city is working on the streets, which causes damages like tires going flat, shocks giving out, or springs breaking. Heck maybe even your axles are making sounds.

It has happened, but it is usually not worth the hassle and red tape you will have to go through. If several vehicles were damaged at the same time by the same road hazard, you will have a better chance if you all band together to fight the city.

Nope. That is, by the way you phrase the question, they ARE working on the streets at the time---there would have been plenty of signage posted by them for you to "Slow down - men working", orange markers, pylons and tape.
If you are ignoring these signs (which supercede the posted limit - and the limit means the maximum allowed under ideal road conditions-which it is not) then, you are not driving to the road conditions and are contravening the law by speeding in work zones. Around here cops double the fine for those speeding in work zones.
The auto manufacturer won't give you a dime either(or the tire companies).
Dumb on 2 counts - against you. Got your license, lost the common sense?
