Why does my car take so long to kick in the first shift shock?

Question:
Ok. I have a 95 Mercury Sable, automatic transmission. Lately for about 3 months or so, it takes a couple of minutes to "warm up". I don't know if its the cold weather or what... but in the morning on its first run, you know how the car does that shift shock thing? Well mine doesn't when its supposed to. I drive it and the RPM's are going into the high 4 to 5 range, the car sounds like the transmission is about to blow (think of pushing on the gas when in park, thats the way it sounds). After a couple of minutes, it does its shift shock and everything is fine. But it shouldn't take longer than a couple seconds. All i want to know is what is that? And I'm afraid to ask what should i do to get it fixed. Do i just need a tune up? Please help.

It sounds like the Vacum Modulator that controls the shifter is leaking, when it leaks or out of alignment it will cause it to shift late. Check fluid in trans and have someone check for vacum leaks connected to the trans.

My turning signal doesnt work?

to me it seems like you haven't been checking the transmission fluid. thats my first answer is to check your fluid, only when the car is in neutral and running. make sure motor is hot. pull the dip stick out and see if fluid is on stick. other wise it could be your transmission filter stopping up also. thats underneath your transmission.
