Question:
right now i have dunlop 225 45zr17's. i spoke with a gentleman at a tire shop and he said that on a speed rated tire the brand did not matter because they are all made to the same specs, so go cheap.... is this correct?
Answers:
whoa i wouldnt believe him, if im going to go 150mph im going to trust a Goodyear over an Arizona or Khumo any day.
How would I take out a key the broke in my door?
speed rating is the maximum sustained speed for a tire wether it is a v,z,w rated all the brands must meet the requirements for a specific rating I would look for the ones with the best mileage warranty. I have a SS with 275/40/17 and they are expensive the only one brand that I have found that has a tread wear warranty is pepboys brand. A few years ago road and track did a tire test called how good are pep boys tires? and they were within 3 feet on the braking and actually did better on the skid pad I also noticed that they did not have trough wander like the stock BFG'sWhy do I smell a burning smell coming from under my 1994 sedan deville cadillac?
Pirelli may have a p6 in your size and it used to have a warranty
When was the last time you did a sustained 150 mph?
I have a 95 dodge intriped wrecked --is the core support 3 pcs?
I wouldn't listen to the salesman. Sounds like you're planning on peeling some rubber and if this is the case I'd advise to go with the bigger names. Also, I'm sure you're going to want to show off your ride and nobody wants to to see generics. If this is just a daily ride you dont plan on racing around in or showing off save your money. Make sure to look at and compare the mileage guarantees.go cheap if you want to, all tires are generally the same (i use that word very loosely). Cheap tires usually have better tread wear which means they last longer but have very poor performance in stopping, on wet roads, at high speeds. So if you spend a little more money on nicer tires with a slightly lower tread wear and better performance you may be much happier. With nicer tires you will replace them a little more often so balance it out for performance and tread wear, i think you'll be very happy. My advice is don't buy the cheapest tires but you can find very nice tires for a good price. My favorite tires are yokohama they are very smooth, very well made, and not outrageously expensive like some other similar tires.
Looking for a good fiber-glassing information or tutorial!?
PARTIALLY LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE TREAD DESIGN AND RUBBER COMPOUND FORMULA CAN MAKE A PERFORMANCE DIFFERENCE. SPEED RATING IS ONLY ONE ASPECT OF CHOOSING A TIRE.More Questions & Answers ...
