1989 camaro security light comes on?

My 1989 camaro rs security light came on, there is plenty of battery power, horn, radio and all electrical works, but starter will not ingage, this happened one time before but started after a couple hours. now it has been three days and nothing. hope you can help. Thanks.

The car has VATS on it. Most likely problem is broken wires in column at rear of ignition lock cylinder. Sometimes moving the tilt up and down can get it to start.

Your alarm system is doing its job. It thinks someone has tried to steal it, and it will therefore not let it start. Is it a factory security system, or an add on? In either case it will need to be reset. If it's an add one, go find the manual that came with it and read it to learn the reset code.
