Question:
I have a 1993 ford ranger extended cab that has a broken front spring hanger , I live in doolittle, MO and am needing to find out how much it will cost me to get it fixed as cheap as I can get it but properly fixed no rigging .
Answers:
Getting it fixed w/o rigging will require that the spring hanger will have to be replaced.
The original one is riveted on.
This is somewhat a intense job because the rivets have to be cut, chiseled or drilled out after the spring is removed, etc. and nothing comes off easy.
You need a spring compressor, torch or drill
and a BFG (big fricken hammer)
Anyone capable of a decent weld can get you mobile again. Just start calling around your local fab shops and see what comes up. You can try a want ad in the paper: "Welder needed, must be able to weld auto susp." Most resto shops will be able to help ya as well, since they have to weld much worse rides back together than your little 93.
