Battery charging, how many hours max?

I left my battery charging overnight, and when I start the car the starter sounds weak...it was worse before I started to charge it as well. How many more hours should I leave it? I have an red optima

If you are using a 12 volt charger overnight then you probably have a bad cell in your battery. Wal Mart has the lowest price I could find.
