i need a motor that will drop rite in my 1991 jeep cherokee. it has a very tierd 4.0 ltr inline 6 cly with a atomatic transmision, ps pb multiport fuel injection. What years are compatible? Did they use this motor in any other chysler, dodge or plymouths? my new baby boy is going to be here in two mounths so bucks are short.

i own a repair shop,and anything that had a 4.0 in it will fit it,mainly used in all the jeeps the 4.0 is a popular engine,and you should be able to find a good one for it they fit all the way up on this one, a good one though will cost you around 50o at the cheapest that's just for the engine,good luck i hope this help,s.

If memory serves me correctly, the I6's only came in the Jeeps. Any Jeep with a 4.0L will most likely fit, if the tranny mounts right up...
