Question:
And what would a tune up normally consist of?
Answers:
how quickly do you need to approach an employer who is advertising a job?
You can probably do it yourself.A tuneup once consisted of changing the spark plugs (and wires if necessary), setting the carburetor mixture, and adjusting the timing. But cars no longer have carburetors, and the ignition timing, even on cars with distributors, doesn't change unless someone changes it.
I need to know exactly how to harden A2 steel.?
What's to tune up? Get a set of plugs (and wires--again if necessary), a new air filter, a socket wrench and extension, and a spark plug socket. Replace the plugs, perhaps the wires (if the car, at 100k, has its originals, this is probably a good idea), the air filter, and laugh at those who wanted to charge you $100 for this service!
how much would it to replae the bumper?
On the other hand, if the timing belt needs to be replaced--which you should do every 60-75,000 miles--then you may be looking at several hundred dollars. Also, the fuel filter may need to be replaced (should be changed every 30k). That may run you about $100, if you cannot do it yourself. Look in a Chilton or Haynes guide, or in a service manual (available at most libraries).
Good luck! Have fun!

Why is my 2000 Dodge Neon leaking antifreeze?
i own a shop, and it should roughly cost around 300 bucks ,they,ll replace the plugs and wires on it ,the air filter and oil and filter ,and do a diagnostic check on it,this usually cost around 300 for just this part of it,but that's all it should need at this point, good luck,i hope this help,s.the heater wont work on my r reg astra the fuse is ok?
It depends on what it needs, like what was said, if it needs a timing belt that should be done, and can cost about $700 (at my shop) and then the tune up part of it, depending on what needs to be done, let just say, plugs, wires, fuel filter (if external), air filter, oil change, throttle body cleaning/service, fuel injection service, vacuum line service, pcv valve, and i think i'm forgetting one or two other things, but that would come to about $700 using good quality, better then manufacture equipted parts, but not over the top as they do not do anything. It all depends on what is really needed. I would say between $200 for a very basic tune up (plugs and inspection) up to $2000 for timing belt and full service tune up. it all depends on how well the car has been taken care ofprobably around $600 with a timing belt change :)
