Is it true that it's bad for your car if you often or frequently drive with less than a half a tank of gas?

Question:
I often drive with a little less than half a tank, and my car is only 4 and a half years old. Could this be bad for my car in the long-run? Or does it not matter if you drive with less than half a tank of gas, as long as you do not drive while it is almost empty?

Radiator Seal - Does it require an entire new radiator?

naw it shouldnt hurt it unless you drive with car on E all the time. any crud in the bottom of the fuel tank will be sucked into the fuel pump and after a period of time could damage your fuel pump. half tank is ok just dont drive on E for too long. actually driving with less gas in the tank improves gas mileage. less weight for the car to lug around makes the motor not have to work so hard. but if you do run with a half tank or less all the time you might need to go to an auto parts store and purchase some fuel injector cleaner. this will help fight the crud in your injectors. just be careful with the fuel pump. depending on the car you could pay as much as 150 - 200 bucks for a new one installed.

Not at just less than half a tank. You shouldn't, though, run the tank to empty, as contamination the gas can get into the system.

You can get water in your fuel from condensation, this could corrode the tank and block the fuel filter, at worst dirty your injectors. I really wouldnt be worried about it, fill it all the way up when its cheap and just a bit when its expensive.

It is not bad unless you live in a cold state. the less gas you have in your tank the more likely it is for your gas lines to freeze. also in case you did not know make sure you fill up your tank at night it is better to fill up at night then it is to fill up in the day time

How hard would it be to replace the brakes?

trust me, I do it ALL the time, and I never have any problems. I've been doing it for years now - since BEFORE gas was so high. Anyone that says that it would cause a problem is being ridiculous.

running out of gas is another thing - you DON'T want to do that.

Can spark plugs go bad in just one month?

Actually, it is not the best thing to drive a vehicle with under half a tank of fuel. The reason being that most of today's vehicles have an electric fuel pump in the tank, and the pump uses the fuel to help keep the pump from overheating. Overheating the pump on a continuous basis will shorten it's "lifespan". So, IMHO, it's best to keep the tank AT LEAST 1/2 full, I personally try to keep mine at or above 3/4 of a tank. HTH!!
