Ford countour 2000 cigarette lighter is not working, is it a fuse?

Question:
plugged in an interior heater and blew the cigarette lighter, is that a fuse issue?

Answers:

What size of bumper would best fit your ride?

It's the fuse. You can really draw enough current out of a lighter socket to heat a car.

When you car needs servicing do you take it to the dealership or to an independent mechanic? Please explain.?

Most of the time no but it depends on where and what part you plugged into. Let me explain. Today's cars have a socket that looks like where a cigarette lighter would go but this port is an externally power port for say your cell phone or computer. These ports are fussed so if you pull to much power it blows rather then burn the wires. If it was infact a lighter socket then it is not fused.
