Heater and brake lights?

Question:
on a 95 buick lesabre are out! The brake lights stopped suddenly and the heat just stopped blowing once you try to cut it on w/the switch. To check it, someone checked the fuses and also they ran a wire from under the hood to something inside the car and the heat would blow, so does this mean that its not the blower ? And just the switch ? If the car is running, of course it will get warm inside( I keep it on defrost) but nothing blows out by clicking the switch. How can this be fixed and does it sound like it could be an electrical problem? Expensive repair ?

If the fuses are good, the brake light switch is bad, and the blower motor resistor may also be bad (could be a switch also).

The two problems are NOT connected.
