The tempature guage is in the red but no hot air will come out. Do you think it is the thermostate or the heater core?

Could be the heater core, also can be your temp gauge..My car has leaked diesel on my drive. What can i use to clean it up?
it could be the thomostat but just may be a air lock or low on coolent need more infofor last a few days my 1997 Vauxhall Vectra has engine ECU light on during driving.?
Take the thermostat out. That should drop the engine temp. If it dose then buy a new one to get the heater working. If it was the heater core your windows would steam up and you would smell coolant inside the car.it could be the thomostat thats broken... of you can check the motor for the belts..check that they are not broken..thats one way the motor runs..
you probably need a new thermostat. you can buy one for like 20-40 bucks at an auto parts store. and most of the time the thermostat is on the top on the engine so you can do it in like 15 mins. either way you can get it fixed for about $50 (even if you take it to a mechanic)
The two most common causes for this problem are that your thermostat is stuck in the closed position, or there is blockage in your heater core. Replace the stat, if this does not correct the problem, flush the core.
My 1992 Grandprix won't start, There is no power going to the pump relay. What can be my problem?
If your temp is in the red, you may have head gasket damage now.does a n reg 1.4i corsa have "abs" brakes on it?
Are you sure the cooling system is full? If not, it can cause overheating and no heat in the cabin.
How do you use jumper cables to jump start a car battery?
it could be either 1 or both, but i would first check the thermostat, then check the anti-freexe to see if its full.ok do this, after you get it warmed up,shut it down and take your hand and feel on the inside(next to the fan)and see if you feel cold spots.if you do then the radiator needs flushing.you might as well flush out the heater core while your at it.More Questions & Answers ...
