Can I wash my dashmat?

Has anyone ever tried to wash a dashmat? (vehicle dash covers) If so how did you do it and did it turn out OK?

First of all give it a good vaccuum or brush to remove loose top dust etc. Check for any marks that may need some extra cleaning and remember that there is most likely some fading from where the sun hits it consistently and this can weaken that section of the mat.
There are two ways you can clean the mat and that is with an Interior Car Upholstery/Carpet cleaner or a Carpet Cleaner. Follow manufacturers instructions and you should have a nice clean dash mat.
Since the mat is molded to fit your cars dash it is not recommended to wash it with water as this will weaken the fabric/mold and it will not sit on your dash as it should.
Another hint is to go into a store where they sell these mats and read the manufacturers instructions on how to clean them.
