Why does the drivers electric window on my 1998 renault scenic only go up?

Ive fitted a new motor but it just wont go down!!

I have a 1988 bronco 2 runs like a raped ape when cold but when it warms up loses all power??

since the motor is working it must be in the mechanical mechanism that is binding or the switch is faulty and the motor is not getting the juice it needs to reverse.
