Question:
1994 318is bmw with no heat. i just changed the thermostat flushed coolent system and still no heat. after the coolent system heats up both radiatior hoses heat up, but only one of the three lines to the heater control valve heat up. the valve is dual solonoid, so my guess is the valve is not opening, thus no coolent to the heater core. my question is am i guessing right on the solonoids not opening, and if so what steps do i go through to test wires (fuses and relays if applicable). now that im rambling on if anyone understands me, please let me know the easy steps to check before i rip out the heater valve and replace it and still have no heat. if anyone understood that please help its getting cold again in north dakota.

Universal? Fuel Pump?
i own a repair shop, and your on the right trail on this one,you can take a 12 volt test light and turn the heat on,and pull the wires out side and see if there's voltage on them at the solenoid,if there is the switch is bad on it and will need to be replaced ,if there is no voltage look in the fuse panel for a blown fuse ,if no fuse appears to be bad its the inside control unit gone bad on it,i just done one of those last week and the inside unit isn't too bad to put on,i bought a used one for mine it was as good as a new one but a fraction of the cost, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.
