95 Ford Escort Wagon?

Question:
About 3ft of my muffler fell off recently, which I'm pretty sure is about the whole thing. It was really rusty @ the end I'm assuing would connect tothe converter (bent end). I've been told the parts would be about $100. I was wondering if I got a Chilton book and someone to help me if this would be a difficult job? If anyone knows how to fix it that would help too.

Hey, for the pain in the rear it could become, your best bet is to prolly have a muffler shop do the work. They'll have the equipment to raise the car, re-cut the bad end and reweld it's replacement tubing and muffler. They can spot weld rubber-gasketed hangers in place to take the weight of the hanging muffler off the exhaust pipe alone. They charge a nominal fee-usually an hourly shop rate, but their tools and know-how make this an uncomplicated straightforward and pretty quick job. Labor'll prolly run maybe $50-$75.
You could tackle it yourself, but the DIY mufflers with crimp ring technology can become a headache, and trying to re-use existing hangers is one of those situations wherein it usually is just barely where it needs to be-if it was just a half-inch over one way or the other. In the shop, its easy to tack a hanger whereever you need one also a welded exhaust'll prolly stay together longer than one just crimped together. Cutting and joining the tubing properly just takes the right tools and a certain amount of skill-even an experienced shadetree mechanic might send this one off to the shop.

The cigarette lighter in my car stopped working -- any ideas for an easy fix?

This is a really easy project providing you can get under the car.
Axle stands are a must, don't try it with the car on the jack.
Just get the parts, some tools and exhaust putty, expect to cut your hands up a little and you'll be done in a couple of hours.

I have a white car, what is the best wax for it?

most of the time it is a fairly easy job to do a catback with the right tools. a few things to consider is if the bolts a to rusty to remove by sockets or wrenches do you have a way or a tool to cut the bolts off. after the bolts are off its a matter of just bolting the new one on and connecting to the exhaust mounts.
if you had a friend that has some experience with cars then it shouldn't be a problem. a Chilton or a Haynes book is fine but i prefer the Haynes over the Chilton.

Has any one else heard this?

12 year old exhaust systems are rusty!! If you can get to a Midas, Meineke, etc... they can do the job for a little more than you can buy the parts for. It's not worth your time.
