Question:
My rear lights and gauge lights will not light up, I changed the fuse twice, but it's still not working. Any idea what else could be wrong?

I'd start by making sure you have power to the socket the fuse is plugged into. This is easily done by using a test light one side should have power the other should not. If there is power make sure that when you put the fuse back in it has power at Both sides of the fuse. If there is no power on either side there is no connectoin to the fuse and it's a minor repair just replace the connector in the fuse box. if there is power only on one side of the fuse it's just blowing the fuse right away when you put it in. then you'll have to do some wire chasing to find the short. Possible and likely to be an issue with the headlight switch. Also check ground wires usually hidden behind the kick panels just in front of the doors. ( see if you can find a wiring diagram this will help you ALOT a dealer ship or a chiltons manual should provide this). If the was no power to either terminal in the fuse box you'll have to check for boken wires between the fuse box and the power supply. Hopefully this helps a little. However electrical troubles can be very diffucult to solve this is merely the most typical or likely causes. However may only be the tip of an iceburg when it comes down to it.its a wiring problem. one of your wires has a short. its a pain to fix by yourself so you should take it to a shop. Easy fix for them. I had the same problem and it was easy to fix. The wiring is refused together and works great. hope this helps. keep me posted
If you had to replace the fuse twice, then you have a short to ground in that circuit. You can get a wiring diagram and physically trace the wires to see where the problem is or you can take it to an auto electrical repair shop and let them do it.

You didn't say if the fuse was blown or you just replaced it on a guess. It could just be a bad headlight switch. The tail lights and gauge lights work off the same circuit.More Questions & Answers ...
