Will my car still run?

Question:
My fuel pressure control valve solenoid broke. Actually just one of the ends which the vacuum hose goes into it. I just finished a engine swap(on a 1992 3000gt VR4 twin turbo) and was wanting to know if it would be ok to start up with that being broken. Could it do any damage, maybe make it run lean? I thought it only evens out the pressure to each of the injectors rather then controls it, but I am not real sure on that, so thats why I am asking. So if anyone knows if it would be ok to start it up or not, any good information from someone knowledgeable on the subject would be greatly appreciated, Thanks...

you could try, but don't expect it to hum, sput, sputter, cough. chug. :) best off to replace the broken part first so that everything works as specd
