Question:
I've been reading around about some radiator and cooling problems I've been having. Some places speak about rodding out the radiator. What is that and how much does it usually cost? Thanks in advance.

Any one know about EGR valves going bad & what your car acts like.?
In the older radiators, the upper and lower tanks could be removed and flat rods were pushed through the tubes, "rodding it out", removing material that was clogging it and reducing flow. Then the tanks were soldered back into place, leaks fixed, painted, and returned to service.poppin noises after cars are turned off?
Most modern radiators are not designed to be repaired in this manner. They are simply replaced when any problems with flow are encountered.
What is an lsd(limited slip diferential) ? and how does it word. How do I know if my car has one?
to flush it out ..and make sure it clean insideOver time, the tubes (that the coolant pass through) inside the radiator shell can plug up.
To rod the radiator, the top tank is removed, and a cleaning rod is ran down each tube to clean them out. It's then flushed to get out the gunk, and the top tank soldiered on.
From where do i get oil seal for mahindra 585 tractor?
Rodding out a rad is just as it says. Done mostly on larger industrial and older rads now. Years ago it was a common thing to do on all rads. It is simply pushing a approprietly sized rod though the inside of each tube in the core to remove rust and scale after both tanks are removed. The core material on modern day rads is so thin and are very small in diameter thus making it very difficult if not impossible to do without damaging the core tubes.More Questions & Answers ...
