Rattling noise, r6?

Question:
My 2000 Yamaha r6 makes a rattling noise basically all the time at low rpm's especially after reving and letting the rpm needle come back down. It is a rattling noise not a whining noise and it is under the gas tank where the noise is coming from. At first it wasn't so loud but has gotten louder as time has passed and now oil burns up really quick and i'm refilling every couple of days. What do you think the problem could be,,,, piston rings, valve adjustments, compression ratio, anything would be helpful, thanks.

Maybe cam chain tensioner? Center aft side of engine. Not sure how that would affect oil loss, though.

Only a good mechanic can tell you that. It sounds like you might have an oil leak, but I can't tell you over the Internet.
