Hopefully you would just blow the main fuse, if no main fuse it's hard to say, I've never done it or seen what damage it could cause.

Don't think it's possible for you to do that. It wouldn't fit the wrong way round..unless you forced it...And then you would do some damage.

From my own experience, it is never good. A friend of mine had that happen to them and we spent days trying to fix the electrical system. The extent of the damage depends on how long it takes your fuses or fusable links to pop. The best way to fix it is to totally rewire your car with a new wiring harness. Even if you think you have fixed it without all new wiring, odds are good that you will have electrical problems until you do.
