My husband just purchased a set of dub 22s. He went to a place in the same town he bought them to buy the locking lugnuts for them and the guy there told him that one of the rims was cracked (he put the tires on them). Sure enough, one rim was cracked in 3 places. The dealer is refusing to do anything about it. Is there anything we can do? Is there anyway we can fix the cracks? Thanks in advance

Who is the dealer? If it is someone local I would raise holy hell with them and demand a replacement. You have just found out the hard way what having an extremely low profile tire can do. You do not have enough sidewall in your tires to properly cushion the wheel (and the rest of the car) when you hit a bump. With no cushion, all it takes is one good pothole or curb to ruin a wheel.

I would say don't get it fixed especially if there is 3 fractures in the rim. It would be more cost effective to replace with a new rim. Also, that is a reason why I will not go bigger than a 20 inch rim on my vehicles because of the lower profile tire you will have to place on the rim as you lose ride quality and increase the chance of damaging larger rims from road hazards.With 22's I am sure the rim hit a bump or pot hole at a fairly good speed and caused the cracks. They will not warranty the rim if it was caused by road hazards as the cracks should have been picked up or seen when they mounted the rims. Since they were not found when the rims/tires were mounted it is not a manufacture defect.

That is part of owning larger rims is most cars with 22's are usually show cars and not really driven around because of ride quality and issues with damaging the rims from curbs, pot holes or bumps.

When you drive on 22s, your tires are going to be very thin. When your tires are very thin, potholes, curbs, speedbumps, etc. wreak havok on rims...dings, dents, bends and cracks.
