Question:
I have a chance to buy a 1991 Honda Civic 2 door hatchback. Now I know Honda's are good make of cars, but for one that old, is it worth buying especially when it has 280,000km on it? How long (how many km's) approx does a Honda last?

all depends on the price and if it is in good condition and has been well kept...280k is a little highcarbeurator or fuel injection? which is better considering all the factors?

how can i fix my windshield cleaner..the liquid in it is frozen...how can put new liquid in it..?
you should really say what price, and i don't know how many miles a honda civic has, all i know is that hondas are made of weak metal and is easy to hotwire :)Depends on how well the car has been maintained, what major parts have been replaced (engine, transmission) and how it was treated. Though Hondas are very good cars, 280,000 kilometers is a lot of km. I drove an 87 to 360,000 but I wouldn't recommend it to someone else.
what causes the heater or ac to blow hot or cold air when AC and Defroster are off?
I had a 1990 Honda civic and at 214,000 miles it was worth $500. The clutch was out, the ignition coil kept failing. For a car that old, you will spend as much in repairs as a newer car / month.Tiburon turbo or supercharger?

Yes they are, but they will last forever if taken care of right. I just bought a 92 Honda Accord with 175,000 miles, all the same and it runs like new. All I did is a complete tune-up and thats all. (Paid $800 for mine)can anybody help me find a clutch disc for a 1994 mercury villager mini van?
15 year old car with 280,000....no deal at all...its at the end of its lifeSince I can't translate km's to miles, I don't know what to tell you. I have owned two Honda Civics in my life (1974 and 1979), and they were excellent, but I traded the first one in for the second one, and then the second one in for a VW Rabbit convertible back in 1981. The 1974 had 87,500 miles on it when I traded it in, and the 1979 had around 20,000 miles on it when I traded it in. I traded in for the want of a newer car, not out of mechanical necessity, so I guess they're not good for comparison. I can say that I've always held Honda in highest regard, and I recently bought my daughter a 2006 Accord in replacement of her 1996 Civic, but her car had . . . well, I can't remember. Sorry. If I just knew how many MILES your prospective car had on it, I could help you, but the fact that it's a 1991, and this is now 2007, I'd say the $500.00 asking price is high enough. I can guarantee you that the owner couldn't get that much if they wanted to trade it in on a newer one, so you can go by the year model it is and how much that will and won't bring on a trade in. And, of course, it depends on how well, or poorly, the car was driven and maintained over the years. There's a lot of variables that need to be considered, so give it some good thought. God Bless you.
How much are you paying for it? I drive a Honda Civic 2 door hatchback - SI - 1990. It has 260,000 miles on it. The engine has been rebuilt. I bought it from my mechanic who wanted $2,000.00 (U.S. dollars) for it. I just got it a few months ago. It was a steal!
Honda's go forever. This is my third. The first was a 76 CVCC Honda civic. A little tiny orange thing. I loved it. It was 20 years old when somebody hit me from behind and totaled it (sad day). It had 190,000 miles on it and was still in great condition. The second car - a 1988 Acura Integra did finally die last year - and it had 225,000 miles on it. I had not taken excellent care of it though.
what is an e c unit for a vw golf car?
280,000 kilometers is 173,000 miles - right? Seems to me if you know the prior owner has taken care of it - and you can get a good price - you should go for it.
And I just read that you added that it's only $500.00. If you know at all that it has been taken care of in the past - it's a great deal. Sure - it's an old car and you'll have to replace things - but even if you spend 500 on repairs in a year - it's still a pretty cheap deal to be driving.

500 for anything that runs today that is in decent shape is a good deal. 280,000 km is less that 180,000 miles. has a good 100,000km left in it if you take care of it. change oil and do the maintenance. good buy.
