Reliability and maintenance history reports of pickup trucks?
It depends on WHICH fuel pump you are talking about. Are you talking about the frame mounted fuel pump, or the mechanical tandem lift pump (the one located inside the "valley" of the block). If it's the electrical frame mounted one, it should be self evident, other than the fuel coupler fitting tools required to disconnect the lines from the pump. The tandem lift pump, however can be tricky. They do quite commonly seize up to the engine block, and break upon removal. As num1huckfinn says, if you don't know what you are doing, it's better left to someone who does.Sorry to hear bout your problems but diesels are an engine that if you don't know what you are doing, then don't mess with them... take it to a dealer that specializes in diesels.period.
Good luck.
