I just had my car mot'd & had some work done on it & paid the garage £110 but they said they would have to post the receipt out to me. They gave me the MOT certificate but because they are going to send the receipt out to my home address does this sound dodgy??

Being MOT or MOT not , this is the issue . But it is not the end of life.

they should really give you the receipt there and then, because for all you know, no work hasnt been done and if you go back there in a weeks time asking for the receipt, they could trun around and say that they dont know what yur on about.my stop lites don't work, but the one in the window does.can't fig it out.?
id go back there and ask for the receipt now and if they refuse tell them you have spoken to someone who says they are to give receipt there and then wether it was a written one or whatever.
if they still refuse tell them you'll be putting word around of their unhelpful service and you'll be calling trading standards. as work may not have been done to your car and have just ripped you off.

if you've got your computer printed mot then you're fine. The mot is actually registered with the dvla and vosa, so the bit you have is really just a receipt.If their computers had crashed they wouldn't have been able to print you an invoice so I wouldn't worry about it.

this sounds very dodgy go back 4 your receipt pal if they wont give you 1 go to police station they will tell you who to go and see to get them checked out good luckThe main thing is that have your MOT certificate, they should of give you a receipt when you paid.
If you don't receive the receipt then go back there.
Probably they are just not planning on declaring the work to the tax man, but you may want to check they are a certified MOT tester with the DVLA just to be safe. They shouldn't be able to issue certificates if they aren't but you can check just in case. As long as they are it's not something to worry about.
