Overheating Seat Cordoba Vario 1.6 Year 2000?

Question:
A few days ago the heater in the car stopped working, and the car started to overheat. I have had it to a garage, where they checked out the cylinder head which was ok. I have changed the thermostat, and the heater transmitter. I have now run out of ideas. Help.
